A Sample of what $5.00 can buy you at Liquidation Outlet
It’s not often a place sells a nail polish that is normally $4.00 for 50¢, but it is just what Liquidation Outlet in Murfreesboro, TN does every day.
They obtain their items from big box retail chains, so brands such as Covergirl, Maybelline, Rimmel, L’oreal Paris and Revlon are what can be found in store.
One great example is Maybelline’s Pulse Perfection vibrating mascara; it sells for $14.99 at a local drug store, but it can be bought for only $1.00 at Liquidation Outlet! All nail polishes can be purchased for 50¢ a piece, and these are polishes that are typically anywhere from 99¢ to upwards of $5.00 a piece. Revlon’s PhotoReady foundation, which typically sells for $13.00 at a local drugstore, can be purchased for $2.00.
“I like the Liquidation Outlet, because I can buy new makeup that is normally kind of expensive for a discounted price, so I don’t have to feel guilty about it,” says Haley, of Franklin, TN who has made a habit of going to the outlet whenever she is in the area.
Although the nature of the outlet business allows for a variety of items to be sold in the store, cosmetics are almost always available at Liquidation Outlet. It is just a matter of what brands, colors and items are there to look through. What might be there one week might not be there the next, so going often is the best bet in finding the most variety of products.
Liquidation Outlet is located at 1020 West College Street in Murfreesboro.
Hours are Tuesday – Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Like them on Facebook or check out their website for more details.
Tip: Like them on Facebook and be on the lookout for special sale days when everything in store is half-off the already low prices. Sometimes they also sale prepackaged boxes of makeup for $10 or $20. These boxes contain well over $100 worth of makeup! Also, keep in mind these are outlet items, boxes and packaging might be torn, dented or marked.

I thought it might be kind of cool to see what I wrote about this back in 2007, and we’ll see if I feel any different now that I’m trying it again in ‘10
I’m a big Flirt! fan, everything that I have used in the line has been just as good as anything 2x or even 3x the price. As far as Heartthrob, I think you know why I bought this blush- I too longed for the big O, but just couldn’t stomach the thoughts of shelling out that much cash for a blush. Now that I have heartthrob I don’t think that I will ever get the actual Orgasm blush. I’ve had the girls day out makeover at Sephora and had the actual Orgasm blush used on me as part of the makeover, and to me they both look so similar that I can’t see myself ever spending the extra dough just to get the Nars original. I will say after a long serach for the closest dup, this has to be it, and the only reason I didn’t give it 5 lippies is that I feel like the shimmer in this can exagerate one’s pores if you’re not careful with the appilcation. Bottom line: if you’re wanting an orgasm blush- and you don’t want to spend $30 to get it- then buy this for sure!
So there you have it, I apparently really liked this stuff, maybe I’ve been missing out for three years!

Time for another around of Blast from the Stash, this time I went into my “Face Box,” where I keep any kind of blush, bronzer, hi-lighters, foundations, etc.
One of my Face stash boxes
After digging around I came up with something that I am actually quite fond of, a Flirt! blush, this time in the shade of 03 Heartthrob. First off, let me say that I really love the Flirt! line that you can pick up at Kohl’s. It’s another creation of makeup mogul, Estee Lauder, and from what one of the sales associates told me, it’s their “kind of like MAC, you know” line at Kohl’s. It’s pretty clear that out of the makeup lines Kohl’s offers Flirt! is definitely the one aimed at younger gals / ladies who like color- “kinda like MAC, you know.” Honestly it’s just a really great line for all ages, and the color variety is great.

Now, for Heartthrob, when I bought this blush it was for one reason, and one reason only: it looks just like another very famous blush, and it’s not a MAC color! This blush is actually known as a majorly popular dupe for the infamous Nars Orgasm blush, so for almost double the amount of blush in the pan, and over less than half off of what the big O costs, I was totally on board for Heartthrob.

When I pulled this out of my face box I was actually kind of surprised that this was in my stash, and not in my makeup drawers in my bathroom. I was surprised that I haven’t been using this on a regular basis. This was a product that I actually did a review on back in 2007, but somehow it ended up being thrown into a stash? It’s now got me wondering if there is something about this blush that I am going to remember not liking once I try it. We’ll just have to wait and see I guess, for now I’m excited to bring this one back!
Well, my first-ever review for my first-ever blast from the stash item. I drew from my “eye” box and came up with an Estee Lauder, Two-In-One Eyeshadow Duo (Wet/Dry Formula) in 03-BORDEAUX.

How did it end up in the stash in the first place? You know, I really don’t know. This was something that I knew that I had- but only after I saw it there in the box. I guess I must have moved on to bigger and better things! I think this was one of those gift with purchase extras that just ended up in a land of little to no use.
Was it used quite a bit before it landed in the stash? I never remember using this frequently. I can tell that it has been used, but it’s obvious that I didn’t use it much. This was just something that I had to have just tried a couple times, then to the stash it went.
What’s the verdict? I know now why this was in the bottom of a box. I have no bones to pick with Estee Lauder. I’ve used their products before and have nothing negative to say about the brand in general, but this eyeshadow duo is just plain boring. The texture is dry, and it has nothing to do with age either. When I first started applying it looked as if I had dusted my eye with baby powder- and this shadow is not white! It also wore very heavily on my eyelids. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion- which I adore- and it did stay on all day, but I could really feel it on there. The color pay-off was dull and flat, and even though the colors were obviously different looking at them in the pan, you couldn’t tell them apart on my eye.

I think the fate of this eye shadow is simple- I’m giving it away, donating if appropriate (I’ll be doing a post about this soon) or tossing it. When I see the photo now it does look better- a simple natural eye look, but I don’t think I’m going to be able to get past the texture and the feel of this shadow. It’s just too heavy on the eyelid.
If you’re anything like me then you have at least one box full of everything from nail polish to a brand spanking new lip gloss- all of which you loved enough to buy, but somehow not enough to use… at least frequently. Yeah, it’s stash, the one thing I wasn’t sure how I would be able to explain to my husband when we finally moved all of my boxes from my parent’s house to ours. In my case it’s an area in my guest-room closet that gives my husband a perfectly valid reason to ask, “But, don’t you probably have something just like that at home?” when we’re out and I’ve drug him to the MAC counter (yet again) to “just look.” Lucky for me, he gets it now. Home Depot is his Sephora, or maybe I can say Honda is his Sephora.
Anyway, I’ve found that many a gal (and some guys) have a stash, and I thought it was time that I gave my the attention that it has been lacking, so I introduce to you: sparkle! DASH’s Blast from the Stash- a journey into the unknown depths of my cosmetic stash.
 My "out of rotation"stash
My goal here is to try out something different from my stash each week until I’ve tried them all out. A daunting task, but I think I’m up for it. I’m going to try out the goods and let you know what I think- if I’ve been missing out by this item being in the bottom of a box, or if it is better left as a once in a while item, or maybe just maybe it was something that has no business being in a stash, let alone being used frequently!
One of my boxes- eye products
So, here we go, my first item that I have drawn out of my “Eye Products” box is, drum roll please- Estee Lauder, Two-In-One Eyeshadow Duo (Wet/Dry Formula) in 03-BORDEAUX. Stay tuned…
